Frequently asked questions
Getting Started
Where is SC Injectables located?
SC Injectables is a nurse-led cosmetic injectables clinic based at Hanley's Farm, Queenstown, near Jack's Point. We also offer mobile appointments across Queenstown and Wanaka, subject to safety and weather conditions on the day. Our Medical Longevity programme is available nationwide across New Zealand.
Do I need a consultation before booking a treatment?
Yes. Every treatment at SC Injectables starts with an individual consultation, so we can talk through your goals, your health history, and what's right for you. Nothing is booked or given without this first.
Is the consultation free, and how long does it take?
Yes, your first consultation is free. We allow up to an hour, because we'd rather take the time to properly understand you, your goals and your health history than rush you through.
How do I book an appointment?
Get in touch through our contact form and one of our nurses will reach out to have a chat before anything is booked. We don't use instant online booking, because we believe every client deserves a real conversation first.
Are you a beauty salon?
No. SC Injectables is a medical clinic run by registered nurses, working under the clinical oversight of our supervising doctor. Our approach is science-based and clinically led, focused on enhancing your natural features rather than changing who you are.
Your Injectables Team
Who will be treating me?
At SC Injectables in Queenstown, your treatment is carried out by one of our nurse injectors: Sian (Registered Nurse and Director) or Sinead (Endorsed Enrolled Nurse). Both have completed further training in cosmetic injectables and work under the clinical oversight of our supervising doctor.
Is a doctor involved in my treatment?
Yes. All prescription medicine treatments at SC Injectables, including anti-wrinkle injections and our Medical Longevity programmes, are overseen by our supervising doctor.
Antie-Wrinkle Injections
How much do anti-wrinkle injections cost in Queenstown?
Our anti-wrinkle treatments are priced at $14 per unit, subject to change. The number of units you need depends on the areas treated and your individual plan, and you'll receive upfront pricing at your consultation before any treatment goes ahead.
What areas can be treated with Botox® and Xeomin?
Botox® and Xeomin is approved in New Zealand for frown lines, forehead lines, crow's feet, vertical neck bands (platysma prominence) and excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis). We're always happy to talk through what's clinically right for you at your consultation.
Do you treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)?
Yes. SC Injectables offers hyperhidrosis treatment in Queenstown for excessive underarm sweating. Your nurse will assess the area at your consultation and talk you through whether treatment is suitable for you.
Is Botox® Safe?
Botox® is a prescription medicine and, like any medicine, it has risks and benefits. That's why every treatment starts with a clinical assessment, and why a prescriber's sign-off and ongoing oversight are part of every plan. Ask your doctor if Botox® is right for you. For product information, talk to your doctor or see the Consumer Medicine Information on medsafe.govt.nz.
What's the difference between Botox and Xeomin?
Both are prescription medicines used for anti-wrinkle treatment. The right one for you depends on your goals and history, which is something we'll talk through at your consultation.
Does Botox hurt?
Most people find cosmetic injectables very manageable. We use a fine needle, and you may feel a slight stinging sensation during the treatment, which only takes a few minutes.
Is there any downtime with cosmetic injectables?
There's usually no downtime, so most people head straight back to their day. You'll leave with clear aftercare instructions to follow for the first 24 hours.
When will I see the results from my cosmetic injectables?
You'll usually start to notice a difference within 3 to 5 days, with the full effect visible around 10 to 14 days after treatment. We book a quick 10-minute review at two weeks to check your results.
How long do results last?
Results from anti-wrinkle injections last an average of 3 to 4 months, and this can vary from person to person. We'll talk you through what to expect for your specific plan at your consultation.
Can I have cosmetic injectables if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. We don't provide anti-wrinkle injections during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you're unsure whether treatment is suitable for you, let us know and we'll talk it through at your consultation.
Skin Boosters, IV Therapy & Longevity
What are skin boosters?
Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to support skin hydration and quality. At SC Injectables in Queenstown we offer Profhilo®, and your nurse will talk you through whether it suits your skin and goals at your consultation.
Do you offer IV therapy in Queenstown?
Yes. We offer in-clinic IV therapy at our Queenstown clinic, and our sister brand IvyRevive offers mobile IV and wellness therapy across Queenstown and Wanaka. Every IV treatment starts with a clinical assessment.
Can I do IV therapy or an IM injection and tox in the same visit?
Yes. IV therapy and IM injections can be added alongside your cosmetic injectables appointment, so you can take care of everything in one visit.
What is the Medical Longevity programme?
The SC Injectables Medical Longevity programme is a doctor-led programme built around your own individual clinical assessment, including a medical consultation and blood screening where clinically indicated. Due to health advertising regulations, we can't share specific programme details publicly, so book a call with our Registered Nurse to find out more.
Is the Longevity programme available outside Queenstown?
Yes. Our Medical Longevity programme is available nationwide across New Zealand, with consultations held online and ongoing check-ins throughout your programme.
Payment & Regulations
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, Afterpay is available. Ask us about it when you book.
Why can't you share more treatment information online?
In New Zealand, prescription medicines are subject to strict advertising regulations, which limit what clinics can say about them publicly. That's why we encourage you to get in touch directly, so we can give you personalised, clinically appropriate advice at your consultation.
